SF Car Wash Channel

Since I was 6, I have been interested in car washing. After watching videos of car washes from around the globe on UA-cam, I decided to start this channel. In 2015, I decided to shift my focus towards conveyorized car washes, and I began contacting car wash owners so that I could begin taking videos from inside car wash bays as opposed to from inside a car, and learn from those who are in the industry.
I am based out of the Orange County, CA area, and film car washes wherever I go.
Uploads will occur whenever possible, though I aim for at least 1 video per month.

Sun Day Car Wash: San Luis Obispo Calle Joaquin Site
Sun Day Car Wash is a new chain taking California's central coast market by storm. They acquired their second store in San Luis Obispo (and second overall) in 2023 from Quiky Car Wash (not to be confused with the chain that previously existed in the Las Vegas market).
Sun Day has a 110' Sonny's tunnel at this site. It has exit and entrance facing SF72 wraps, a SFM901 front to back mitter, TBG200 Bison wheel brush with SFTBG18 rocker brushes, SFM807 side to side mitter/Pendulum wheel blaster combo, OMNI top high pressure manifold, Tire Seal machines, and a 7 producer drying system. Sun Day uses Diamond Shine chemistry, and their top package includes the lava bath, FlashWax, Graphene Xtreme, WeatherGuard, wheel cleaning, and tire shine.

Elite Express Car Wash: Thousand Oaks Site

hey i had a question referring to one of your older videos do you know who makes the kaady mitter
Kaady used to make a few types of mitters, including a flat basket side to side and a sliding mitter for low clearance situations. Currently the only equipment they build themselves are blowers, and only a few firms have them.
Those are some huge mitters
I wanna know how much the top wash costs here for how cool it is, having a lot of foam applicators and including the shammy brushes at the end
$20 1-time. They don't have an unlimited pass for the Ceramic Fusion program, but you can get a pass for the Lava Fusion program for $65/month.

You should see Five Star Express Car Wash next in Hawaiian Gardens.
I drive by that one sometimes, but I have no contacts there at this time. It is a 140' Tommy tunnel with Aerodry blowers. Five Star also has smaller sites in Costa Mesa and Santee.

I find it insane how like 95% of car washes in The Netherlands have ENTIRE Tunnels dedicated JUST for prewashing

Why do they wash off all the surfactants before the friction wash ? Why have so much space at the beginning for the high pressure stuff ?
The idea is to remove heavy contaminants such as mud before the friction equipment. The space between the presoak arches and volume arch gives the presoak some idle time. They also shoot lube soap straight into the brushes.

It will be exciting to see this video. Been here a couple of times. Many years ago, a really fascinating location. Question, is there still a PDQ Tandem car wash in the area near the self serve washes?
If there is, it is no longer in use. Bob Autowas also got rid of the unit at their Zoetermeer site and is just using the space for storage now.

Finally a video of this wash! I believe this is a Sherman - Hannah tunnel, But I dont know for sure. And as of 2023 / July. the front mitter still is innactive. I want to stop by the wash later today and see if I can get some video of it.

Holz retractable polish mitters are very common in the Netherlands and Belgium. Generally they are kept retracted out of the way for vehicles that are not receiving the polish wax service.

I think they are old California Kleindienst or early Washtec units.
@@SFCarWashChannel You're right. As the tunnel got rebuild in 2006 I bet it was California Kleindienst's. Could have been WashTec's because early WashTecs systems (especially the tunnels) were mainly rebranded CK and Wesumat
